ABOUT

Empovia, formerly Change Catalyst, is a leader in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). As part of its rebrand into a platform for empowered learning and development, the organization needed a new website to reflect its modern identity and expanded offerings. The project began with an inherited design that didn’t align with the new vision, while development was set to begin in just one week — requiring a fast reset and streamlined process. The new site had to balance Empovia’s decade of credibility with a fresh identity that would attract new audiences.

MY ROLE

Art Direction • Brand Identity • Web Design & Handoff

I led design, UI/UX, and art direction for Empovia’s website and branded podcast templates. I defined a modern visual style that balanced vibrancy with professionalism, designed responsive layouts and build-ready specs in Figma, and partnered with engineering on the WordPress implementation. To extend the brand, I also created Canva templates for the Leading with Empathy & Allyship podcast, ensuring consistency across platforms.

GOALS

The redesign aimed to communicate Empovia’s rebrand while building a scalable, user-friendly platform that could serve diverse audiences. With a condensed timeline, clarity and speed were critical.

SOLUTION

The project evolved from finishing an inherited design to delivering a complete redesign, allowing Empovia to fully realign its site with the new brand and vision.

Originally tasked with completing an inherited site design, the scope quickly shifted after client discussions. The decision to start fresh made it possible to reimagine the site and content flow, realigning with Empovia’s updated brand direction.

With only a week before development began, high-fidelity wireframes replaced lengthy exploration and testing. Detailed specs supported engineering for a smooth WordPress implementation.
